On September 17, 2025, the anniversary celebration “20 Years of Ultra-High Field MRI in Europe” was held in Lecture Hall 7 on the grounds of the University Medical Center. Over 130 participants were counted! This event provided an opportunity to trace the development from the installation of the first 7 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging scanner in Europe in 2005 to the global launch of the Terra.X Impulse Edition in 2023. Former researchers presented their work and provided valuable insights into the research results of the past two decades. The celebration was also enriched by welcoming remarks from former and current participants from politics, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, the University Medical Center, and representatives from Siemens Healthineers. At the end of the event, a promising outlook for future development was given, in which a 14 Tesla MRI “Made in Magdeburg” could play a key role.
